If you are a beginner in DIY, you may not know what tools you need. There are a few tools that are absolutely essential. Every dad or uncle probably has every single one of these in his garage or cupboard. In order to build up the perfect toolbox, fit for any DIY emergency, have a read at this article.
1. Claw Hammer
A hammer is useful in just about any situation. If you make a mistake, you’ll need the claw feature to pull the nail right back out. Make sure you pick one that isn’t too heavy. We also recommend going for a synthetic handle instead of wood. Wood breaks easily and you want your tools to last for many years to come.

2. WD-40
The miracle spray. Squeaky doors, stiff bike chains, you will go through gallons of this stuff in any family household.
3. Tape Measure
What’s the point in having the tools to do a task if you have no idea what the measurements are? Make sure you have a measuring tape in your inventory to avoid any angry DIY accidents.
4. Screwdriver Set
From tiny fiddly jobs, to big bulky flat pack adventures, you are going to need a multitude of screwdrivers throughout your life. Try finding a set with various sizes and heads so you have one for every occasion.
5. Utility Knife/Box Cutter
At some point, you’re going to need something a bit stronger than your kitchen knife. Get a good quality box cutter and you’ll be able to slice through anything in your DIY career.
6. Work Gloves
If you intend on using the Knife mentioned above, we recommend getting a good pair of work gloves. From working in the garden to working with sharp tools, it’s important to protect your hands.
7. Markers/Pencils
If you’re doing some DIY, then you’re probably going to end up with a pen or pencil behind your ear. Marking up measurements or marking where to put that nail in the wall, you are going to need something for that.

8. Crescent Wrench
Adjustable and incredibly handy, the crescent wrench is an essential. The features of this tool mean you can use it on almost any size of nut or bolt.
9. Cordless Drill (With Bits)
If you’re going to be doing some DIY then you will probably need some sort of cordless, electric drill. Sometimes a hammer and nails won’t cut it. Try and get a drill that has various speeds and a reversible setting. It can be painful trying to get misplaced screws back out without it.
Other things you may need, depending on the level of work you are going to be attempting include a lamp, a spirit level, hearing protection, safety goggles, pliers (with or without the wire cutter), and a pair of scissors. We just ran out of room to write them all!
Hopefully now you will have an amazing toolbox, fit for any DIY project!
